Objects and images, a fusion between art and science. Based on distortion of vision, light and tone and the use of glass, mirrors, optical lenses, shadow and reflected light. These objects can be perceived in different ways. I take the idea of time capsules, which indicate time frozen until the spectator moves and the image shifts. I seek to give these objects a double life, revealing that nothing stays the same and time doesn’t stand still.
Vision can be the result of some form of unconscious reference, a matter of making assumptions and drawing conclusions from incomplete data, based on previous experiences. These objects are an ongoing enquiry into the relationship of what I see, a mere reflection of light on a surface, the reality of a reflection. I use materials to question our understanding of what we are looking at and question both the thing itself and the image of the thing
